Establish support from church leadership and the church body.
Establish a communication line between your church and the recipient church and put someone in charge of the project.
Scope out the land! Send representatives on site to the church location. Meet with leadership of the church. See and hear the needs firsthand.
Have an overall attitude of flexibility and willingness to support the church’s needs as THEY see them. (Don’t tell them what to do. Meet their needs based on their community and culture as the pastor and leadership have discovered by being “in the trenches”.)
Be willing to give financially as well as send people support on mission projects.
Commit to at least a five year plan of action.
Encourage church members to go on mission and have a personal experience in the field.
Commit to consistent prayer and verbal encouragements for the recipient church.
